Rockstar just gave fans a collector's edition to get excited about — and then immediately clarified it has nothing to do with actually owning GTA 6. On September 24, 2026, the studio opened pre-orders for a $399.99 merchandise box that sounds like a premium game edition but is, by Rockstar's own description, sold entirely separately from the game itself.
Quick Answer
Rockstar's GTA 6 Collector's Edition is officially called Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, priced at $399.99 ($349.99 in the UK). It contains 11 merchandise items themed around Macca the Gator, a fictional in-game TV show — but no disc, no download code, and no game. It ships November 19, 2026, the same day GTA 6 launches, with orders capped at one per person.
What's Actually In the GTA 6 Collector's Edition Box
| Item | What It Is |
|---|---|
| Macca the Gator Figure | 6-inch PVC figure with a twist-open base doubling as a stash compartment |
| Oakley Frogskins Sunglasses | Matte black with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTAVI logo |
| Leonida Keys Crossbody Bag | Ripstop bag with a custom debossed YKK zipper pull |
| New Era 9FORTY Snapback Hat | Vice City-themed embroidery and appliques |
| Macca the Gator Magnetic Mirror | Electroplated pink glass, doubles as wall art |
| Chunkee the Manatee Shot Glass | Laser-etched Rockstar Games logo on the base |
| Vice City Swizzle Spoon | Debossed enamel logo, Rockstar-branded tip |
| Vice City Razor Blade Keychain | Metallic, embossed with GTAVI and Vice City branding |
| Enamel Pin Set (9 pins) | Comes in a custom metal tin |
| Sticker Pack (9 stickers) | Crack-and-peel vinyl, in a stash bag |
| Double-Sided Poster | Illustrated Leonida art on one side, full map on the other |
The whole set ships in a box measuring 19 x 13.5 x 12.5 inches, and Rockstar lists it as an 18+ adult collectible due to small parts.
Why It Doesn't Include the Game
This isn't an oversight — Rockstar states plainly on the product page that "Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately." The naming is genuinely confusing: most people hear "collector's edition" and expect a bundled copy of the game, similar to Red Dead Redemption 2's Collector's Box, which also skipped the game but was far cheaper. GTA 6's version costs roughly four times as much for a comparable merchandise-only concept.
Price, Shipping, and Availability
Pre-orders are live now exclusively through the Rockstar Games Store, shipping to the US, Canada, the UK, and over 20 European countries — New Zealand is notably excluded so far. Standard shipping isn't free, and stock is limited with a strict one-per-customer cap to discourage resellers.
